General presentation > Objectives and scope

This workshop is primarily intended to provide an opportunity for researchers and practitioners from Industry and Academia to gather and share knowledge regarding the influence of design and materials on journal and thrust bearing performance. The conferences shall offer to the participants the opportunity to study the latest theories on this subject and to identify the problems met by industrials in a series of presentations. This event is the result of collaboration between the Electricité de France Company and the Department GMSC of the Institut Pprime (UPR 3346, CNRS-Université de Poitiers-ISAE-ENSMA). Furthermore, the workshop is organised under the auspices of the French section of the ASME and of AFM.
